Fiberglass profiles are easily machined (saws, mills, drills, grinders, machining centers) to create exactly the right profiles for design specifications.
The machined pieces may be glued and/or bolted together using special adhesives or mechanical fasteners. The most commonly used fasteners are plates or corner braces attached to the profiles with special bolts or threaded rods (Top Glass offers a line of these products in special Fulcrum® composite materials) in order to ensure homogeneous corrosion resistance and electrical insulation properties to the entire structure or apparatus.
Fiberglass profiles may be batch colored (pigmented resins, not post-production surface painting) to customer specifications. |
